It's the "Time to Switch" says London Housing Magazine on the 1st December and suggests RegenTV as a way to do it.
London's analogue television signals will be replaced by digital ones in 2012 meaning communal systems will need upgrading. But are social landlords prepared? Rangan Momen reports at http://www.londonhousing.gov.uk/doc.asp?doc=16088&cat=2093About RegenTV it says "One example of combining initiatives is the Carpenters estate in Newham where digital upgrade has been combined with a major local initiative, RegenTV, funded by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM). RegenTV increases use of online services and computer skills, encourages involvement in the master-planning of the estate’s future, provides a local community TV channel, Freeview and over 80 foreign language channels. It has been estimated that such a system could be implemented on other similar estates for about £1,000 per household."
